UK Plastic Tableware Recycling Scheme
For UK-based party kits using the IKEA Kalas plastic tableware (brights and pastels) or another Type 5 (PP) tableware.
If an item gets broken or is too scratched to lend and cannot be re-homed (i.e. to a local playgroup), the Network offers traceable end-of-life recycling.
Some local authorities take Type 5 plastics at kerbside collection or at local household waste recycling centres (the tip), but if you don’t have access to this or would like a traceable recycling option then you can send us your unusable tableware and cutlery.
Non-IKEA tableware must have a Type 5 triangle or PP symbol. Please email us first if you are unsure hello@partykitnetwork.org
These will then be recycled in the UK by Brothers Make based in Dorset.
You can find out more about them here: https://www.brothersmake.com/
Please note that the plastic tableware from Harfield can be returned to them directly for recycling. Details about their scheme can be found here: https://www.harfieldtableware.co.uk/recycling-service/
